Finding Inspiration in Unexpected Places

It's a cool evening at RSU. I'm taking a stroll with my Gym buddy, Clinton to the gym. We're talking about new ways to make money. On the way, we see the most surprising scene. It's unexpected because we didn't think we'd see it. It's a friend of ours, G squad, who works out with us. He's carrying blocks on his head "Oguaja" and we couldn't help but stop. I and Clinton know him to be a bouncer and also a gym instructor. So we're shocked at this and inspired all at once. He's so focused that he doesn't even notice us. It's in the school compound so he isn't bothered about the "babes" seeing him too. He's really busy so we don't greet him rather we just pass. We couldn't help but talk about what we just saw. Probably, years ago it'd be something we'd yab him about later. We've grown and seen that life isn't the way we thought especially in Nigeria. It was indeed an inspiration to do whatever we can well and also to keep pushing.

It happened in 2022 but since then I've looked at the G squad differently. In a good way to say the least. Getting to the top is a process, it's not rocket science. Even the best of minds start from somewhere. Late Bob Proctor started with mopping floors. Today, I listen to his teachings on "the law of attraction" and "the law of vibration" every day. He has impacted millions of lives, and he still made millions of dollars before he died in 2022. Remember at some point he was mopping floors. It's a process and it takes time to get to the destination. Success is nothing more than the progressive realization of a worthy ideal as defined by Earl Nightingale. This means that any person who knows what they are doing and where they are going is a success. Any person with a goal towards which they are working is a successful person. The important thing is you're moving and the journey is molding you. Be proud of whatever you're doing now. Tell people about what you're doing no matter what it is. Don't be ashamed to tell people, as long as it puts food on your table and it's legit.

Here are four reasons why you should:

•You could be talking to a potential customer - A potential customer isn't necessarily known facially. Nobody will know what you do if you don't tell people about it. This is why you shouldn't mind what people will think about what you're doing.

•You could be talking to someone who'd like to invest in your business - An investor could hear you out and be willing to put some money into your business. This could help you blow up.

•You could be talking to someone who knows somebody who might need your service - It's popularly known as a connection. I might not need your service or product but I might know someone who'd need it. If you didn't tell me you do it, I wouldn't be able to recommend you to someone else.

•You could get help from experienced people in the same field - You get to meet people with years of experience that are in the same field. You practically learn from them, and you can avoid the same mistakes they made.

I wouldn't tell you what I don't do, so I'll tell you what I do. I'm a writer, a baker and an aspiring UI/UX designer. So what do you do?

Let me know in the comments section. Remember to be proud of what you do and don't be shy to tell people about it.
